When crossing between the North and South Island drop off your rental car at Wellington or Picton and pick up a fresh vehicle on the other side.

Free Courtesy Pickup

Available within 5 km of any New Zealand Rent A Car branch. View our New Zealand rental car locations.

Airport Service

One Way Rentals

One way car rentals are available between most locations, however minimum rental periods may apply. Some one way restrictions apply to some vehicle types.

Driving Licence Requirements

Current New Zealand, International Licences and internationally approved Licences are accepted.

Insurance

Vehicle Insurance is mandatory and must be paid prior to hire. All accidents are subject to an excess (deductible). In some circumstances this may be reduced for an additional premium.

Credit Card Payment

We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, Bankcard, AMEX and Diners. A credit card is required for a bond to cover the contractual obligations and the Insurance Excess (deductible).

GST Inclusive Rental Car Rates

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a New Zealand tax charge applied to all goods and services. Our NZ rental car rates include GST.

Australia and Overseas Car Rental

NZ Rent A Car has an affiliation with Network Rent A Car in Australia which has branches in most Australian locations. For bookings in Australia and other countries, contact our Central Reservations Office for a quote.
